I moved to Orlando 8 years ago, and I am researching the buildings and architects of the area, I thought it would be interesting to look back 10 years and see what buildings were honored in 2004 by the local chapter of the American Institute of Architects, and share them with you.
One of 2004’s award winning designs was the City of Orlando, Downtown Public Library Central Interior Renovation. It received the AWARD OF MERIT in the Interior Category, designed by HKS, Inc., Orlando, Florida.
The jury commented: “Good adaptation of existing building, expressing original structure yet adding a new dimension. Transformation of an existing space that is inviting to its occupants.”
“HKS is a worldwide network of professionals, strategically located and working seamlessly as one firm with individual expertise in design, research and management. [They] work together in teams across offices and across sectors to deliver exceptional value to clients. The value of talent, experience and knowledge from across the globe is multiplied when shared.”
